Glass of Red Shadowing on Glass

I'm glad you've enjoyed the Glass of Red video!  Getting the shadows and highlights that represent the "juiciness" of the red wine is the trickiest part of this painting!  The beauty of acrylic paint is that you can keep adding more paint and playing with it until you get it where you want it to be.  You're doing a wonderful job--thanks for sharing a photo of your painting!  That helps me give you a bit more advice...I think you are perhaps being too careful with getting depth of color in the shadows of the wine.  Very normal for a newer painter--it can be a bit scary!  Try adding more brown and/or purple into the reddish orange we used for the wine and keep your large brush moving in loose movements in the areas I demonstrated (curving along the bowl of the glass and in a few areas of the center of the wine area).  You want to have contrast between the different areas we created in the wine to keep that juicy, fluid feel to it.  I think you've gotten a bit too uniform in color and that may be what is bothering you!  Try reviewing that section of the video again with this new insight in mind and don't be afraid to keep playing with it until you're happy with it!  Hope you find this helpful!
