Why is there such a difference in price between canvases of the same size? What should I be looking for?

Why is there such a difference in price between canvases of the same size? What should I be looking for? As I recall, you are a new painter, John, right? Canvases come in a wide range of quality; cotton vs linen, different profiles (depth of stretcher frame) and then a range of canvas weights and quality. At this point, just go with an inexpensive canvas that you can explore painting with and look at better quality canvases as you grow! And remember that you can always paint over a painting in acrylic paint! Have fun! |
